JeNN MUNSON
DIRECTOR OF ADMINISTRATION
Birthplace: Shichirigahama, Kanagawa, Japan (my parents were English teachers in Japan for 31 years!)
When/how did you begin working for EBT? I began working as Director of Administration in 2018.
What are your main responsibilities/areas you are involved with? Overseeing studio admin/on-site operations and managing office staff. Providing support to faculty and management for classes, performances and outreach.
What do you enjoy about your job and/or EBT? The people! I’m incredibly lucky to be working with phenomenal people who are all committed to supporting dancers and families and providing a positive and joy-filled ballet school that is available for all aspiring performance artists who want to dance. I really enjoy talking to and getting to know dancers and parents and assisting however I can to help them achieve their goals and dreams. Performances and community outreach events are an added bonus to all that!
What are you looking forward to this year? Getting back into our studio so we can welcome students back to a loving and positive environment to grow and thrive as a dancer!
Favorite hobbies/activities: Watching cat videos...I LOVE CATS... but also I love to go on hikes (when I can get my act together...) and of course going to see the ballet as much and as often as I can!
Please feel free to add anything else here: Ballet has always been a part of my life. From age 6 to 12, I attended a ballet school in Japan, where I was the only non-Japanese student there. Despite a few challenges, I loved every moment spent in the studio and in performances. I was sad when I had to quit because of the long commute to my new school (International School of The Sacred Heart in Tokyo), but I made sure dance would always be a part of my life. I was elated when my daughter wanted to start ballet when she was four years old and through her journey, I found EBT where now I get to be a part of so many dancers’ journeys.
