BALLET
Meg Perkins received most of her ballet training from Margaret Goodner-Tan at Ballet Arts Academy. She spent summers at ballet intensives in the U.S. and Canada and also danced competitively. She attended the University of Oregon where she danced for their touring company before moving to Seattle.
Ms. Meg has been teaching throughout the Pacific Northwest for 25 years and, most recently, she spent ten years teaching ballet at Turning Pointe Dance Center and Trilogy Dance Company. She actually taught at and performed for Emerald Ballet Theatre during its early years, and she is delighted to be coming back to teach ballet to older students this year.
“The best part about teaching is building relationships with my students. I love watching their brains churn and when the lightbulb clicks, it’s magic! I take a lot of pride in teaching technical ballet but in a way that inspires the kids to have fun and work hard!”
Ms. Meg holds a bachelor’s of science in nursing and works at The University of Washington in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She and her son, Colin live in West Seattle with their pup, Maudie and two kitties.
